Scorpion Trail Hike

Karen & Jeff enjoyed a new (for them) hike in the southern Sedona area ... the Scorpion Trail.

Just south of Sedona's Red Rock High School, access to it is easy. And the views - like all Sedona hikes - are wonderful!

A reddish bluff, with horizontal layers, overlooks the signpost for the Scorpion Trail.
Scorpion Trailhead ... the Start of the Journey

A mixture of landscape forms, from distant craggy cliffs to nearer weathered hills, is dotted by high-desert trees and shrubs.
Looking southeast on the Scorpion Trail

Reddish bedrock forms the bottom of a steep, small wash leading from a Sedona hill.
Looking up a small, dry wash along the Scorpion Trail

A small plant, topped with bright yellow flowers, protrudes from dry red soild and anchors a curved, fallen branch.
Wildflower Detail

Distant cliffs rise above a near-ground rocky bluff, with craggy juniper trees in the foreground.
Looking northward on the Scorpion Trail

A mixture of plant forms in the foreground frame distant craggy buttes.
Lush high desert view.

Mesquite trees frame a distant butte, with a meandering dry desert pathway leading away into the lush high desert landscape.
Lonesome trail homeward!
